Designed by a veteran, for veterans.

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 21, 2026  ·  Android Version 1.0

The short version: DD-420 stores everything on your device. We collect no personal data. Nothing is sent to any server. No accounts. No tracking. No ads. Your information stays yours — always.

1. Who We Are

DD-420 is an independent Android wellness application designed to help military veterans track PTSD symptoms and cannabis use. The app was built by an Army veteran with TBI and PTSD, for veterans — from personal experience with PTSD and the tools that help manage it. It is published as a sole proprietorship.

2. Data We Collect

We collect no personal data.

DD-420 does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, or any identifying information.

All data you enter — check-ins, symptom logs, cannabis sessions, notes, settings — is stored exclusively on your device in a local Room (SQLite) database. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

4. On-Device Storage Only

Every piece of information you log — symptoms, cannabis sessions, moods, triggers, notes — lives entirely on your Android device. We have no servers that receive your data. There is no cloud sync. There is no backend database.

The optional home screen widget reads this same on-device data directly within the app's own process to show your streak and today's status — it does not create a separate copy of your data or send anything off the device.

When you uninstall the app, all of your data is deleted with it.

5. PDF Export and Sharing

All users can generate a full wellness report to share with a VA provider or therapist. This report includes symptom data, cannabis logs, and usage patterns, based on the data categories you choose to include. It is generated entirely on your device and is not sent to any server. You control where it goes — you initiate the share, and Android's built-in share sheet handles delivery. We never see the contents of any report you generate.

6. Caregiver Sharing (Free Feature)

DD-420 includes a free Caregiver Sharing feature available to all users. This allows you to share a simple wellness summary — such as recent mood trends or session counts — with a trusted caregiver, family member, or support person of your choosing.

This sharing is always voluntary and always initiated by you. We do not send caregiver data to any server. Sharing is handled through Android's built-in share sheet (Messages, Email, or any app you choose), which means you control who receives it and how. We never have access to any shared content.

7. Health Connect — Future Feature

A future version of DD-420 may include optional integration with Android's Health Connect to read wellness data such as heart rate or sleep. If this feature is added, it will be strictly opt-in. Any Health Connect data accessed will remain on your device and will not be transmitted to any server. This policy will be updated before that feature is released.

8. Optional Tips (Buy Me a Bag)

DD-420 is 100% free. All features are available to every user at no cost. The app offers optional one-time tips as a way to support development — entirely voluntary, with no features locked behind them. Tips are consumable purchases processed by Google through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store your payment information. We receive only a confirmation from Google that a tip was completed — no financial details.

9. Notifications

DD-420 may request permission to send local notifications (such as daily check-in reminders or weekly PCL-5 reminders). These are generated and delivered entirely on your device. We do not use push notification services. No data leaves your device as part of the notification system.

10. Children's Privacy

DD-420 is designed for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used this app, contact us and we will assist in removing any locally stored data.

11. Third-Party Services

DD-420 does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services. There are no SDKs from Facebook, Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or similar platforms in the app.

The only third-party platform involved is Google — through the Google Play Store and Google Play Billing — governed by Google's own privacy policy.

12. Security

Because your data never leaves your device, security is tied to your device's security. We recommend using a screen lock, fingerprint, or face unlock. If your device is lost or stolen, your data is protected by Android's device encryption.

13. Your Rights

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. All of your data is on your device, under your control. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in Android Settings.

14. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. If the changes are material, we will notify you within the app. Continued use of DD-420 after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

A note from the developer: This app was built because veterans deserve tools that respect their privacy as much as their service. Your wellness data is yours. It always will be.
